Hi guys, new to this Forum!

Getting to the point, my Budget is 50K extendable to 53-54k! Need the Prices to get the Budget thing right!

Specs needed:

1) Core2 Duo or Core2 Quad Processor.

I hav shortlisted E8300, 8400, Q9300 & Q9450. Confused rite now. Whether to get a Core2 Duo or a Core2 Quad!

2) High Performance Mid-Range Mobo.

Shortlisted: Asus P5NE SLI, AsusP5N 32E SLI. Confused over here as well as all these that i shortlisted have a much older Chipset (N & S bridge). Most Suggestions reqd here. Don't know anything about Asus P5K or Abit or EVGA. Which chipset is best know among these? P35 or X38 or X48 or NVIDIA nForceŽ 750 or 780 or 790?

3) 22" LCD. Price Reqd to Balance budget!

Shortlists: LG 226WTQ
Don't know about Samsung.

4) 20x DVD Writer ide/ sata. Price Reqd to Balance budget!

shortlists: none. Need help in choosing from Sony, Samsung (tray out?), LG, Lite On (Noisy? have heard that it sounds like a Jumbo!),etc

5) Graphics Card: Nvidia 8800GT. Price Reqd to Balance budget!
XFX or EVGA or MSI?

6) 5.1 ch Speakers.
Preferrably Logitech X530 or X540.

7) 250/320 GB Seagate Sata2 HDD. Price Reqd to Balance budget!

Cool A good 500-600W PSU and Cabinet.

9) 2GB Transcend 800MHz.

Other Misc Doubts:

--I know this Config is hard to fit in 53-54k. But is it actually that impossible?
--I have a cousin in the US and she might just help in getting Components fom there at a much cheaper rate. In that case, should i go for DDR3 RAM and MoBo. Is it worth the Hassles? What about after sales service? Warranty?
--Or are DDR3 RAM and MoBo available at Lamington's High End Dealers?
--Can anybody list the updated prices of these above shortlisted components?
--I need a rig that works for me for atleast the next 4-5 yrs. Is it worth to go for a high end rig now? or wait till DDR3,etc arrives?
--I have been hearing about Buy Backs. I have an Ge Force MX4000 Graphic Card and a good 80GB HDD. Where can i get rid of them?

let me summarize
1. get a c2d e8400 imo around 7-8k
2. if ur not going for sli get xfx 650i or a low cost mobo asus p5nesli since i believe mobo doesnt make much diff. costs 5k for non sli and 7k for sli
3. 22 inch costs aroudn 16-18k. samsung is good dont take lg
4. take any 1.5k max
5. take xfx 88000gt around 10k
6. id say screw speakers take a normal one
7. u can take 500gb hdd for 5k, zebby antibiotic for 3k, and coolermaster 600watts xtreme for err 4k
9. 2gb for round err 5k

these are the max prices and if u want a good system i suggest u go with at least what i say becuz its pretty much good. its kinda like the same system im using u cna check my siggy

dont go for ddr3.
1>coz very overpriced
2>u need ddr3 mobo, which again adds to the cost.

b/n duo and quad, it depends on ur budget. if able to fit quad inside it, then go for it. (currently not many progs take adv of 4 cores)

and for dvdrw, sony or liteon.

4gb OCZ Gold DDR3 for 9650 bucks isnt bad at all
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr3_pc3_10666_gold_edition

Price source- theitwares.com
And DDR3 board = DEfinitely Intel Bonetrail for 13000 rupees

DDR2 config ----
Intel Q9300 + MSI P7N SLi = 12400 + 9200
Abit boards are good , but this board is a better performer.and since its Sli,you can always add another 8800GT

LCD = go for Samsung \ Dell ..Cost around 14-15k for a good one.
Western Digital 320gb AAKS hdd=3000
MSI 8800GT OC ,the one with custom cooler for 13000
Cabinet is a definite cooler master - if u want proper management and cooling.

The Question that still Mongers in my mind is E8400/ E8500 OR Q9300/Q9450!

Which is a better one in the long term. Are there any games that use 4 cores? If no, When will the Migration to Quads start?

--> Also, i need to make a future proof PC (atleast 5 yrs!). Please help.

future proof PC = Quad core and even Q9300 is a good purchase..,there are few games now,and new games will be quad supportd only..

btw even a Quad Extreme wont last 5yrs..
