I just follow the tutorial by the Gigacore and now the forum looks somewhat good, but still it is too slow as compared to previous one. :-x

New look is very cool, but it could have been better.

1. Right side ad-banners should be removed; it will create space for posts. very odd looking page when you find ICICI bank, dream job adds in a tech forum which was very popular and now being ROI centric.
2. The theme is not matched with new fresh look of the forum. Especially the buttons are looking very odd with the reddish theme.
3. Flash bar has placed un-necessarily, could be merged with user CP bar.

Yeah....that NewsBytes bot keeps on flooding the Technology News section and there is practically no discussion on his threads.....More than 70% of the threads started by NewsBytes (duplicated articles from the website) have ZERO posts......

If you want to have those articles on the website, then we've no problem but we don't want those unnecessary threads in the Technology News section.......

well...the new digit website is no doubt far more better, attractive and user friendly than the previous...but the thing i miss most in the new site is the preview of the upcoming issues....the CD-DVD content and of course the magazine main articles previews especially.....its like taking breakfast b4 the huge lunch is served....except that, i think its a fine website for us..the DIGIT fans....keep rocking ...........:cool:

If you ask all of the old-timers on this forum you will realise that we have always listened to feedback, and made changes for the better.

Not everything we do will meet with your approval, and we realise that. I have a lot more responsibilities now, and although I would love to sit and monitor this forum 24/7, like I used to, I just don't have the time. I'm not saying that this means things will not get done, but it does mean that it will take longer than it used to.

I've changed the colour for now, to make it "less hurtful to the eyes" as you guys were saying it was. We will try and improve it further over time, so please be patient. The red was only to match the look and feel of the forum to the site, which I have tried to keep by changing it from pure red to the colour value of header background on the main site.

Anyway, continue reporting bugs and giving us your feedback, we appreciate it.

I am just upset by seeing your new site. Its all rubbish .Its over months it has started and yet most of the links results in "No records found". And today is 4th of june and no signs of the latest issue. Whats is happening. where is that standard gone. Is the digit same as 1 or 2 year back. I think the quality of content has gone down(They are increasing the quality of paper although which is not required). Do something good now. Its enough.
Please do something to improve the magazine and website.

Thanks for replying. The site imdeed DOES feel nicer now. But the ads are still mostly red in colour. Is there any possibility that the whole site could be re redesigned and red replaced with blue or green ? Blue is supposed to be the most eye friendly colour, but even then, too much bright colour is bad for the eyes. SKOAR! website looks very good, when we compare it to digit website. Perhaps take some cues from your gaming friends ?

As far as intergration is concerned, most of us feel that the existance of the Thinkdigit.com Forum is a special one, isolated and glorified. Most of us hang out here for a long time. So this has become more of a community hub than a marketplace. So why not try to bring back our old glory with the Kirch forum ?

As for Digit Magazine as a whole, it is strongly felt that its quality is detoriating. Not intending to ask much, but why is it so that a magazine so successful in an earlier format a couple of years back is turning to this state of art garbage ? It used to be much better before.

Items reviewed used to be the best of the best back then. Now, its all different.
On laptop reviews, you review 1 lakh 2 lakh wala laptops and models which are hardly expected to entertain the value concious Indian. While Dell XPS m1530 and Inspiron 1525 are missing, Vaio models find place. Compaq Laptops, the most feature for money laptops ever, are barely seen while HP's money suckers are found prominently.
The same fate has been suffered by mobile phones, mp3 players and other gadgets. Nothing is spared.
Prices quoted are so grossly different from market price, especially for Pendrives where its more than twice the street price.

Technology articles are no more as inspiring and entertaining as before. Why has this new fiction coloumn appeared ? We would have been much more happier if more coloums like take a crack appeared.

Fast tracks are diminishing. What were once valued guide/reference books are now just some plain articles. True, fast tracks are on their recovary process, and are getting better again, but they are not back to their old form yet where one could learn everything from a single book.

In most articles and tutorials these days, you are describing expensive paid softwares or sharewares. This makes people either loose intrest or pirate. Instead, you can concentrate more on free software.

As far as the prices of products are concerned, it seems you guys are just printing the MRP of products.
Please keep in mind all classes of your readers- Rich, Upper Middle Class, Lower Middle Class while reviewing products & yes we will love to read reviews by normal users. You can start a section for Public reviewing of products.

The forum has too many bugs & I can't remember every single bug. Here's one- Post a visitor message to a user & you'll get an error. However the message gets posted & if you refresh the page you'll see the message.

Its a good work. You are showing them the mirror. Still Raboo is not replying about the site updating issue. Why dont you prepare a detailed list of all flaws they have. We all forum members will help you. There are lots and lots of bugs in this site also. But the main prob is with their magazine.

Digit Guys do some thing. You always boast about yourself.

And our loveable fasttrack is dying. From past 6 or 7 issues you only have one issue thats google google and only google . In between only one relevant issue was there.

Hello Friends,
I think my and some active members views about digit magazine has made many many tech hunger members to rethink about buying this months special edition. Its true and there r many facts to support this thinking about think-digit.
1. This months edition is late. I am not sure when will it reach in hills of Uttarakhand. So to satisfy our hunger we had to buy the Chip.
2. This special edition is not worth Rs.200.00 (Dvd seems useless). Only the magazine content seems appealing(but I am not sure). While this month's chip is at Rs. 150 mark. With 3 useful DVD's and a great magazine content.
3. Digit's content/page ratio is much lower then chip.
4. Chip's cost content/page is much less.
5. Chip is now available in my city.

So I had to make a hard decision to leave out this months digit edition or not and buy the Chip.

And buy the graphic card comparison edition or the digital camera edition and then buy the December/2008 edition and then there I can read the missed digit issues.

If any one bought the magazine and finished reading it please Inform how is the magazine content. Thats to quickly.

Don't You all think that this useless, late "latif", staff of Digit should be fired.

The new website design is not up to the mark.Perhaps you can make it more simple and firstly get rid of that red colored irritating tabs.

You could leave a quarter of the front page highlighting the present magazine as in previous website design.

The red color is too reflective.

I think img code should be activated in signature option because the main reason behind this deactivating of img code in signature was fast loading of the pages as now the new themes of digit takes too much time so there will be not much problem if img code in signature is activated.

I remember when they changed the forum, some letters posted on the message would appear on stars. That was really funny. Now thinkdigit forum will have to fix the photo album issue, the attachment issue and the social groups should be deleted. The SGs are useless and sooo inactive

The adsense link unit in header clearly violates Google's TOS for Adsense.

The link text adsense unit is overlapped partially by Digit's navigation (Tech Q&A to be precise). This is not acceptable according to Google's TOS for adsense. It's similar to having a drop down which covers an ad unit. There's a high possibility of wrongful clicks on ads due to the overlapping.

Just visit this (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48182). I was referring to this rule - 'Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the ads.'

The 'new' sign on tech Q&A should be removed. It's going to violate the rules of Google's ads. Also there should be less active ads and no ads on the side.
