Hi All,
Google is the second Brain to many of us.
It uses white screen which consumes higher power.:(
If Google had a black screen, taking in account the huge number of pages viewed, according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour of power per year would be saved"
In response, Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously
with lower energy consumption: :p
Help spread the word,
Use:
http://www.blackle.com (http://www.blackle.com/) energy saving search

1. Its not by Google.
2. That was old monitors, the new ones don't consume any extra energy displaying white pixels.
3. Its old news.

saching... nice try.... but i would suggest u search first b4 postin.... bcause gettin fresh news is a rarity.
this'll save u face when postin... like the many ppl shuntin here.
Also... check out the similar threads at the bottom of each post page.
Understood what i said!? Better try after a search... or u face this sorta blast here....
Anyway... Welcome to the party... dude...
And... gopz.... see this (http://blogs.msdn.com/dthorpe/archive/2007/08/03/black-pixels-cost-less.aspx).. dunno if shobankr got it right.. though. Backlight consumes most of the power. The LCD doesn't care if it is black or white as it's on anyway... no matter what color is run. Mayb using a single color or min deviations in color thruout the screen'll save some power as the cpu/gpu needs to calculate lesser as to where the color has to be what.... mayb...
Tweaking brightness and contrast and settings has a bigger effect.
