anyone here using ATI 3000 series with 3D applications like 3D Max and Maya... i just want to know if it works fine as it works with Nvidia card... i will be buying it next weekend so just wanted to make sure i dont make a bad buy

gx_saurav is using HD3650 with max.......... without any problem, so you can safely go on with your purchase. Don't know if it's the same case with MAYA but it should work without any hiccups.
I also had that same doubt but after GX experience, its all cleared.

its an awesome card and imo ters noprob with 3D apps...get the gecube OC edition if u want to overclock..at 99% load(crysis) mine only runs at 57-60C...and how much are u paying for it???

ATI Radeon HD 3xxx series graphics card is not from nVidia :D
I am using Radeon HD 3650 with 3Ds Max in DirectX 9 mode as well as OpenGL mode, there is no problem what so ever, I m also running the newly released trial version of 3Ds Max Design 2009 which works with Aero unlike previous versions. In DirectX 9 mode 3ds Max 2009 works flawless with my card, although 5 billion polygons is a limit I would say after which the view port starts to slow down.
