Hi,
When you right-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and select properties; in the system properties, it is given as follows:

Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

<name of user>

Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
3.00 GHz, 896 MB of Ram
Physical Address Extension

Now, what is this 896 MB of RAM; I had asked for 1 GB RAM. And what is Physical Address Extension?

Thanx.

Hi HydraHeaded,

Thats normal!

Your computer is sharing your rest of the RAM for your display.
896MB + 128MB = 1024MB

Cheers,
