View Full Version : Compiz-fusion: Disapearing Desktop elements.

I am having problem with compiz fusion, main problem is the My whole desktop keeps disappearing in parts, then comes back for few secs when i hover mouse pointer the them.

Here is a random screenshot, to explain my problem


For now i have disabled compiz :|

Bad drivers? Also try removing the .compiz directory from home.. It could be a bad setting..

disable few effects, water and reflection, see for what combo it works well

^one thing-go to nvidia's forum (nvnews.net /...) and explain ur problem.there are nvidia devels to fix.

also make sure ur using 169.12 as driver.

Download and install drivers from nvidia's site.

I don't that would make a difference as newer driver have fixes for 8 series GPU. my card is of 6 series. It has a fully stable driver.

Something else is the culprit.

tried installing driver from nvidia's site.
BOOM!
X failed to resart:D

tried booting in VESA mode also but same error.

ERROR: Too many arguments

Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)
^^^^from the log.

reinstall the driver.post your xorg.conf too.

Removed nvidia-glx-new as it was confilcting with driver.
now got x back but compiz issue is

@gauri:ur driver is old.as you dont want to install using nvidia-installer the latest driver(module compiled),you should get zen kernel for Ubuntu(much faster) and also install the nvidia .deb which they provide :) it is easy!
(what I do is to use m-i to compile the modules.leave it anywasy!)

already installed the latest driver Prakash, still my compiz is giving me a hard time.

and @gari :what repo did u use?you may try compiz git repository for very latest compiz.I think that *may* help :) Hope there may be compiz git repos for ubuntu :)
