it wont be for 14-15k for sure.would definitely be around 18-19k
it depends what you want it for-a Q6600 is more than sufficient for any kind of work

it wont be for 14-15k for sure.would definitely be around 18-19kif you compare international vs indian prices for intel cpus, they are almost same.......... i mean isnt Q6600 around 10.5k in india? well its only $250 in the US........
I read that international prices for Q9450 is US$350, doesnt that make it less than 15k???
it depends what you want it for-a Q6600 is more than sufficient for any kind of worki want it for high-end gaming, and also want it last for 5+ years, without getting obsolete.
but isnt q9450 based on the newer "yorkfield" [EDIT] architecture?? plus has 12MB L2 cache..........

will check it out. thanks.....
and even it wont last 5yrs ..both Q6600 and 9450 will last arould 3yrs only.what do you imagine the minimum CPU requirements be for games, 3 years from now? i mean very few games at present take advantage of 2 cores at present........ IMO with 4 cores, a cpu like Q9450 will/should last more than 3 yrs easily........
BTW if i buy only the CPU, without fan by how much will it be cheaper??

if talking about minimum requirements- u might drag it to 5yrs
min requirements for games after 3yrs will be something like crysis's system requirements i believe
but for some serious >mid-end gaming its 3yrs max for sure.and other components will also be outdated-i'd suggest a balanced mid-high end pc with a Q600 for now and after 3yrs u upgrade it to something better.
btw Nehalems are around the corner

now availability is very limited. hence the higher price. in a month or so should fall by a couple of thousands.......
btw Nehalems are around the corner
sorry. no more waiting for me.........:-P
time to buy and start gaming.........:D
