I wanna clear my doubts regardin Graphics card...
I know dat pci-e is far better than agp cards...
while buying a graphics card (pci-e) what points we have 2 consider...
like:
shld we give more priority 2 memory i.e 256MB DDR2,512 MB DDR2 etc
for eg:
which is better(dont consider in terms of cost...)
POV 8600GT (256 MB DDR3)
POV 8600GT (512 MB DDR2)
POV 8600GT (1GB DDR2)
all r same series cards.....
what we have 2 consider more : pixel shader, shader model etc or memory,
frequency of the graphics card ?

definately POV 8600 GT 256MB DDR3 will easily defeat 512 mb single handed
and the 1 gb ddr2 ram will be useless as most games wont even utilise 1/4 of it
better u take 9600 GT which u can get for rs 8-9k or take 9800 GTX

hmmm...:o dat means sapphire HD2600XT (256MB DDR4) would beat DDR3
so HD2600XT is better than above all....

so, 256MB is more than enough(i.e not 2 worry abt memory):)

wow is it under 10k(in mumbai) wat abt 9800GTX(must be above 10k I guess) then i can play all the latest games(DX10) @ max settings....

1st option without shadow of doubt.9600gt would be even better option.9800gtx isnt released expected price to be 35000/-

==> nope hd 2600xt has more or less same performance as 8600GT
so, 256MB is more than enough(i.e not 2 worry abt memory):)
==>depends on the card..more mem is advantageous at higher resolutions. but the 8600 is too week to play at high res , so it cannot use the 512mb memory.so better to get faster 256 ddr3 than slower 512 ddr2 ( ofcorse 512 ddr3 is welcome albeit performace will b nearly same as 256 ddr3 card ).
but on the other hand a 8800GT CAN use 512mb coz its fast enough..so if u couple a 8800GT with 256mb , it will get bottlenecked by the lower memory.

u can consider buying 9600GT or radeon hd3870 . make sure u have a good enough psu.

:) so, 4 dat a 450-500 watt smps would be enough...if i m not overclocking
& also radeon HD3870 is priced high above 10k which above 9600GT so 9600GT is the best bet....

You can also buy a mid-range graphics solution like Radeon HD 3650

@gx , could u plz reply to my pm to you..
brands make a difference particularly in OCability , cooling solutions , PCB quality... for geforce cards xfx , asus , leadtek , msi are good.. for ati cards saphire , gecube are preferred.
even a 9600GT will need a good smps ( not a local 450W ). .

Brand help only in overclocking, if you are not into that like me, then Sapphire etc with stock cooling will do..
sagargv, send me the PM again
