Ishant sharma was fined for showing symmonds way back to pavilion. WTF. this is not fair. Replays clearly showed that symmonds started it yet again. But he was not fined. THIS IS ENOUGH. Do you agree ?:mad::mad::mad::mad::evil::evil::evil::evil:: evil:

It was clearly shown on TV that it was Symonds who actually said something first. He should be fined, not Sharma:mad:

^^^ It's BCCI that has to take up guns and not you and me in stupid Y! wars. Blame the media for making unnecessary hype over such simple issues. And blame people like you who waste time by making rubbish threads

^^ That's the point of having many moderators. That's to ensure that at least one mod is online at any given time. If all of start moderating just once a day, this forum would become a porn forum :p All of us are doing our job, whenever we get time. Anyway, enough of off topic discussion, back to the topic please!

all right i get it. sorry everyone. didnt know it was against rules. better read all forum rules now. you can close the thread now. i was just frustrated at that moment. but anyway the ishant event was unfair. ishant did wrong but symonds did equally wrong
@desiibond: you can be tolerant for some time but this is too much. how would you react if you are punished for fighting with ur colleague but he didnt receive any??????

i think all of this fine stuff is a big BS. it is so unnatural to remove feelings from the players. if we dont want to see the feeling of the players then y not play the game with robots or on a pc. totally pointless.

Also when Gilchrist himself said that he had used a squash ball inside his batting gloves during World cup 2007 final, ICC took no action. But in Dhoni's case the onfield umpire asked him to change his gloves as these were not according to rules

Even there was no say when Gilly used a squash ball in third test. He inserted in his gloves on the field. Yeh camera men ko bhi dekhna chahiye. I couldn't see Symonds saying anything coz for the matter of fact, he was not captured on the camera, but Ishants reaction showed that it was something Symmonds said.
^^Symonds' reaction on getting bowled was captured on the camera and shown on the tv too!

@casanova .
had the ICC found that gilly was using squash balls while the match was in progress, they would have asked him to replace it as in dhoni's case
btw, symonds says he was only appreciating ishant . he said " Well bowled champ" and ishant misunderstood it and thought that symonds was doing what he does best
There is/was no rule for squash ball inside the gloves! However, dhonis gloves were against the ICC rules hence they asked him to change it!

^^Though no rule is there but had it been any player of the subcontinent rule must have been made just then.
Remember India's tour of West Indies? When their was controversy regarding whether Dhoni was caught at the fence or not(the video recording was inconclusive) a new rule was made that in case of doubt , fielder's take would be final
Vyasram
26-02-2008, 08:08 PM
^^no, there was actually no such rule
when that catch was taken , there was total confusion as the umpires hesitated to do anything. then lara came and told dhoni that his players won't lie and that dhoni can trust his opponents' words. dhoni agreed and departed like a good sportsman

It was shown during third test that Gilly used a squah ball and the commentator narrated the wc2007 finals incident as well. It was good for India that Adam did not bomb with squash ball like in wc2007 finals.
Symmonds first reaction was shown and then Ishant reacted and suddenly got furious. Symmonds was not captured between that

A rule was made that in case of doubt fielder's say would be final but otherwise the rule is that the benefit of doubt goes to the batsman. At that time Dhoni spent about 10 minutes in the middle to see what is the final decision of umpires

^^Even Australian people are saying that there team is not playing in the spirit of game and you are saying there is nothing wrong with them. Most probably he was provoked by Symonds. If Ponting,Mcgrath or Symonds do it, its right but if its a player for India, SriLanka or Pak its a breach of icc rules.

Symonds is a cheeky little fellow !!! i mean literally he must have said " well bowled mate " ishant might not understood English , and with symonds previous history, he thought he abused him and made him to do provocative action ........ great trick :D

I cant stomach one thing, with all these flare-ups and one-sided punishments, what the hell are Shastri & Gavaskar doing!! they just blurt out some opinions and pack their bags!!! Shameless ones!!!
At least Gavaskar could have iniated some actions against the culprits as he has some higher post in the ICC. Cant he?
The Match Referee is such an biased fellow that he saw what Sharma did but failed to see Symonds'. Maybe the directors have to send him a footage personally. Both the players should have been pulled-up and not just one!!!
Damn these BCCI donkeys, they cant uphold their own players honour.
Pawar just want the support of CA for the post of the President of ICC, that explains the lack of any concrete steps by BCCI.
Saale paise banane mein lage hue hain!!!!
