problem with Ajax

Hi ppl....Am trying to learn ajax...I just want to know whether are they any pre-reqs for ajax to run on my machine(browser)??first thing i did...simply copy-paste a program from my book to see whether it runs or not....it din't :(

Your browser should have javascript installed or activated(though this is not the likely cause your AJAX didn't work.) BTW have you installed any server?

hi....yeah...i got apache running on my machine..
yeah...javascript is enabled...a silly reason why my program din't work..u know....syntax error :)....
