I have Geforce GO 7400 in my laptop. Is it possible to replace it with Geforce 8400 GS?

Not if the GPU is soldered onto your mobo. Which is true 99% of the times.

but some good laptops come with the ability to replace GPU, a feature added to increase buyability.
