Hi Friends
I have a compaq v3225au laptopn which is AMD powered. It came with Vista presinstalled.. I installed XP and I down loaded the drivers from HP website and it is working fine .

My friend is gonna take another laptop cmoapq presario v3702tu which is powered by Intel.

it also comes preinstalled with Vista and My friend want to install XP in it. So my question is can I use the same drivers which I used for my lappy??

Both are v3000 series.

Thanks
Shoban

Obviously not. For an Intel-based laptop, you will have to download inf update + chipset drivers from Intel website. They will take care of chipset and integrated graphics.

Other than that, Compaq laptops often use similar components when it comes to Sound, WiFi (Atheros/Broadcom), Modem, Bluetooth, etc. So, those could be similar to your AMD laptop. Be prepared to download a few more SoftPaqs, as there would be some differences. But you will have to do all of these manually. New Compaqs don't play nice with Windows XP out of the box.
