Cant play MKV files, Plz guide??

i have intel 845 board 2.4Ghz 160GB IDE HDD 512MB RAM winXP pro SP2, i have also installed K-lite mega codec pack,VLC player but whenever i try to play MKV format file, it opens in player, goes full screen automatically and the screen goes BLANK, the sound plays for 5 seconds but stops afterwards and i also have to restart my PC cuz nothing works afterwards, not even Ctrl-Alt-Del. I'd really appreciate if u guys help me out here :confused:

Are you are trying to play a HDRip video ?

install klite or cccp. for cccp use media player classic to play mkv files. u can also convert mkv to dvd format(google it) and play it as a dvd format video.
