Hi Guys!

Misrosoft has launched its new generation email service with 5 GB space in the name of "live.in". It has pretty good features. So just go to hotmail.com and book your email asap b4 someone else grabs the name that you want. Lucky me, I got it with just my first name.

So rush...

May be its old news, but I am sure there still are a few who dont know about it and this is for them.

Btw, can anyone tell me how can I configure this with Outlook Express. I basically need the smtp and the pop3 address.

I think you can try Windows Live Mail ? The desktop email client which is from MS.

This is very similar to Outllok Express.

who needs 5gb? i hardly use few mb...

and i certainly wont use things like gmail drive cause my video and music collection is too big...

no one needs atleast 500 MB for their mails i think, may be this gb's for manufacturer's or companies

You can get live.in coz we live in india
.in is a local domain
if any of u have any friendz in abroad, he can get an account for ya

No need to go abroad for getting a live.com email address ! It is simple ;)

Here is what I tried (just 15 mins back !!),worked for me.

Went to http://www.stayinvisible.com/web_proxy_list.html

Selected a site and tried the link you gave (http://get.live.com/mail/overview) - thanks for the link :)

Now, I tried to signup, but for some reason, it showed js error etc and was not success. But in the address bar (not in browser's address bar, but in the proxy sites bar), I got a link ! Here it is, too long

Update 2. Use Windows Live Mail (desktop email client) for accessing your live.com email address, just like outlook express.

The method iMav mentioned also seems to work, but that involves copy pasting a javascript in browser and teh source says FF is not supported. The above link is supported in all browsers.

EDIT - Sorry, some friends imed telling the link is not working in Safari. So change the above line to - it may work !! lol

iMav, I created the live.com and live.in email addresses using the link I posted. But I think it is not working for all / all browsers :( Not sure why.

Yes, as per the source, your method (js) should work in IE.

Others - try the stayinvisible proxy pages, I think it will definitely help.

Just Registered myself a @live.com ID using a PRoxy server. :)

Here is the IP

66.153.203.218 Port 80

Configure Firefox > Options > advanced > Netwok > settings

I think it uses MAPI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAPI)

Do not think so. Use Windows Live mail - desktop client, it is almost same as Outllok Express.

Yes, i too think so. You can download Live Mail Desktop Client using this

http://g.live.com/1rewlive/en/WLInstaller.exe. Its small, just 5MB i think
