Hello friends.. U can view my system configuraion in my signature.. I am going to buy one graphics card for this configuration.. I had asked this question here quite time back.. I am planning to buy XFX 8400 GS today from sp road bangalore.. PC Wizard shows that my M/B supports PCI-E..But in compaq site they have given that it suppors only PCI(no AGP slot also)..Can anyone tell me does this support PCI-E?If not please suggest me a good PCI card for around 2.5k.Also suggest a AGP card for the same price(for my friend).I have attached pc wizard screen shot .. Please check it out.
Thank you..

As if u see this link (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00300057&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=463301&dlc=en), u will see that this mobo doesn't have AGP slot and also not PCI-E!
It has 3 PCI slots but i don't think PCI cards are available!

I suggest u buy a PCI-E based board as it will be available easily for u because u have a LGA 775 processor!

Thanks for the reply..Is There any M/B which support both P4 processor and Quad core(i think it's no there).. So that i can change only M/B now and can bring quad core after some time..

Good Choice!

Yes there are motherboards which supports both P4 and Quad Core and since u have 775 Socket motherboard then there are unlimited choices!

But u have to change ur RAM too since all quad cores will be using DDR2 or DDR3 RAM but u have DDR1 RAM so if u buy the motherboard compatible with Quad core u will have to upgrade lots of things.

Best option is go for a DDR1 motherboard available from various brands and upgrade everything when u will be upgrading to Quad cores!

U can go for:
Intel D101GGCL @ 3750/-
Intel 915GAVL @ 4200/-
ASUS P5RD1-VM @ 3150/-

Thanks...
Suppose if i go to quad core M/B what all component i have to change?

But I am interested in buying a M/B which supports DDR2 or 3 as DDR2 RAM is very cheap compare to DDR.. Can you suggest a M/B which has onboard Graphics?

U will have to change the processor, motherboard, RAM or may be power supply(if it is less than 450 W)

DDR3 RAM costs a fortune now days so if u really want a Quad core for future, u have ample options depending on your budget!

Post your budget and i will give u the best config available or refer to chooto cheeta thread (http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71700)

Well there is a large list for these motherboards but u need atleast 2 GB RAM which should be for 1X2 Gb @2000 /-

So that leaves u for 5000/- for motherboard:
BIOSTAR GF7050V-M7 @ 3350/-
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/content.php?S_ID=307

And INTEL DG33FB http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/products/desktop/bdb/dg33fb/feature/index.htm @ 5000/-

Even the Q6600 is a cheapest Quadcore which supports 1066 MHz FSB but in coming time there will be 1600 MHz FSB Penryn processors which will be really awesome!

Then u will have to compromise on to Q6600 only or any other Quad core available at that time!

But by far this is the best suitable option for u!
