im gonna take a compaq lappy, which processor tpo take? intel dual core or core2 duo?or both are the same only?

I think core2duo mein cache memory zyada hai, thats the difference. Just like old pentium and Celeron concept .....

no the memory is shared b/w two processors, thats the reason.

Actually the overall architecture of C2D is way better than that of Pentium Dual Core.

Core 2 Duo is the improvement on the Core Duo architecture. Go for Core 2 Duo.

agreed

both the names look similar but has a big difference

In Desktop PC - You can get a Dual Core Processor at 3K, but for Core2Duo you have to invest atleast 7K

Core2Duo arent 7k. E4300 is Rs. 4800 odd if I am not wrong.

You are absolutely Correct

I mean a Good One
For Eg :
E2140 = 2.8K (Dual Core)

and

E6600 = 7.6K (Core 2 Duo)

@arunks : go for the core 2,the core duo is basically a rehash of the netburst architecture,while the core 2 is a newer more efficient architecture altogether.

but i had already purchased laptop with core duo many months ago..

I was just asking whether it is better than pentium dual core and how much behind is it from core 2 duo in speed and performance
