Internet -Connecting Problem -Fedora Core3

Hello friends,
I have US robotics external modem 56k.
When i configured my modem i got an error "Unable to open modem"
then i created a link to /dev/ttyS0 and named the link as /dev/modem
Now i am able to connect to net,
when the message in dialer comes "Logging on to network",
my computer hangs and says "pppd expired"
and dialer closes.

Can anyone help me out.

use wvdial and add a line in /etc/wvdial.conf
Stupid Mode = 1
that will do the trick

ho man pradeep that doesnt work i still have the problem and i still cant connect to the net.

please post the output from your wvdial.conf file hide the password in it .
