I wanted to use the inbuilt email in messaging menu. I configured gmail as per their help and support site. But I am not able to receive and send email. This is true of other email providers also. What could be problem? Can somebody help me?

^yeah i also can't set IMAP4 in gmail

For accessing Gmail on your mobile by applying settings only not enough.
You need to install certificate for that.

Check the attached link and download it and copy to your phone via cable.
After transfered the file open it on the phone.It'll ask for installation.

Just say ok and the certificates get installed on your mobile and accessing gmail will be easy...

Note:
This will work only if you get error like "not valid certificate" or "Error in Certificate".
