Need suggestion for bank to open demat account!!

Well i wanted to start a demat account for myself.....Earlier had interest to start with icicidirect...But on traderji lot of ppl shifting from it to becoz of high brokerage....also i m unable to get the charges for trading on it...one side it states 500 to open an account and no charges to trade on it other side i see some clear value deal plan which charges 300 per month(3.6k a year).....being a new trader i wont be interested in such forcefull trading plan......i m more towards long term investment but still want to try day trading and all

So any suggestion is welcome
