Mine was 386 with B/W monitor for Rs. 2500 in 1997-98. I think it was having Microsoft Windows OS, I remember playing solitaire and minesweeper on it.
My mom got in a lucky draw where they were disposing off old computers from her office.
Ofcourse, experience was not smooth (though I was very happy that there is a computer in my house, chalta nahi toh kya hua :D). Initially, we got held because her office had not told her about the password of that PC. After we received the password, within 1 month, the motherboard gave up. We did not repair it then. I still have the monitor to be used in emergency.
After that we bought a new PC in March 2003(the one which I am using now)

Oh I missed this thread!
I had a 4mhz XT machine, some 640kb or so RAM, a 40MB odd hard disk and a CGA monitor! My dad had paid a fortune for it!!!!
Then I upgraded to an AMD 386DX system wid 4MB RAM wid a VGA monitor, 500mb hdd etc. and had got the Creative multimedia kit wid a 1x CDROM, Soundblaster soundcard, speakers, mic and loads of CDs. I was also given some certificate or something for being on of the first customers in India to get the creative multimedia kit! I still haf those things preserved while the computer is non-existent!
