Upgrade Suggestions?

I want to upgrade my motherboard, Processor and Ram(as my current one is DDR)

My budget is strictly between 8k-9k, as of now i think i'll go for

processor: AMD x2 4000+
motherboard: Asus m2a-vm
RAM: Kingston's 1GB @667 Mhz

I'd like to know if
1) there is another better possible upgrade in that budget
2) Asus's given motherboard supports 2GB of RAM per slot?

I will use the system for learning animation (i know tht budget was supposed to be higher for that kind of use but thats all i'v got)
