It takes atleast 15-30MB (or 40-50MB for CS:S) per hour.
The Latencies are high in already (50-100ms if you connect directly), If you go through proxy, it'll be nearly impossible to play.
IGL Servers have VERY high latencies for BSNL People, V-Street/Fragshack/GG-Client servers have quite good (50-90ms) latency.
You better get 256 Unlimited Connection if you play multiplayer a lot!

@neeraj u r wrong.......
in the game of cs the fps matters a lot lot lot lot lot . u cant play at 25-30 fps
even i cannot play @60 fps
100 fps is must for a good player of cs otherwise the game doesn't runs smooth ..
here even if we play clan matches on lan the clan players alwys ask for 100 fps and they r not ready to play at 60 :p
hope u get to know the fps funda in the case of Counter Strike 1.6
Thanks

go to nvidia control panel and disable v-sync to get 100 fps :D

agreed with the above suggestion.
disabling vertical sync makes the game really smooth.
and also 100 fps is must have in CS 1.6 as the lower is fps, more lagging and you will see the effect quite clearly while u go autofire and the crosshair really refuses to reduce towards the original size once it gets big.

once tried disabling V sync but that caused me few other prbs so im playing at 60 now...

^^^^
no no you are wrong.. FPS really matters for fluid game play
fps is not just affected by graphics alone.. the net settings in CS also affects fps in a big way.. like 'rate', 'cl_updaterate' etc it varies for different servers.. v-street servers have them in their welcome page.. and for others just experiment to see wat works ;)
fps of 25 is just fine for TV watching :D

of what i have known abt FPS, 25 for tv and 30 for games(if constant) it doesnt show any kinda lag.
If you think im wrong , try FPS compare software and see it for urself :)
