Actually i reinstalled linux redhat 8.0 my ethernet card intex rtl8139d card got detected as a realtek 9128 card so how do i remove that and configure my card correctly.Also i founout that both kde and gnome while using them 45mb is used by them in my ram can u provide me with the links of some light window manager and how to install them

regarding ur ethernet . does it work once its installed as realtek 9128 ?? If not , try these

- Remove the card physically from the computer and boot into redhat , Kudzu will as u if u wanna remove it , choose yes . Attach it back and restart RH and u will be able to configure it .

- If its an integrated card , just disable it in bios

- Try updating to Fedora 3

Any other so i dont have to open my cabinet I am in the middle of my 12th boards so idont have that much time.Also i dont want to really screw up anything

There's no point in reconfiguring your ethernet if the card is giving you same performance right now.

For your information, the Intex RTL8139D ethernet card is based on the Realtek's chipset, so there's no reason to panic.

U got a point there rajkumar.Anyway the card is not working Otherwise why should i post about it i connect to the net thro lan.i am using a dual boot win98 And linux.I have only 128 mb ram i want to browse using linux as it is more secure than windows.anyway didnt find any links still for window managers pls help
