Rome Total War:Save option disable

hi fredz i recently playing "Rome:Total War".But i am facing a strange problem i can't save the game.The Save Game option of the menu always disable . wht is it's solution?

Strange! Try to find the option in preferences file. But u can also save using ctrl+s

Try reinstalling game..........

try reinstalling the game may be some file got corrupted,
btw i believe you can't sace the game when your are in a tactical battle, you can only save in the strategic map.
