How can I place an application shortcut in the application menu of Fedora 7. I know how to create and place a shortcut on the desktop, but have got no clue as to how this can be in done the application menu.

Windows has a directory structure supporting the Start menu and its contents. How does linux achieve this ?

U have 'alacarte' for that and AFAIR 'smeg' too. Open up terminal and type as root 'yum -y install alacarte smeg'!

And then type in terminal 'alacarte' or 'smeg'!
