I bought a samsung DVD-RW SH-W162Z/IDBH(16X) last year. It had problems writing to DVD±RW media. I went to the company's service centre and after a bit of a battle managed to get a good DVD-Writer from them. At least, that is what it appeared at that time. But after a few months, this drive also started to show its true colours. It would write to DVD±RW media only at 2X and sometimes even failing to write at 2X. As I had faced problems with Samsung's service centres when I went to get my drive repaired for the first time, I had e-mailed the company which took prompt action and gave me another DVD-Writer(which as already mentioned appeared good).
Now the Unique problem: When I insert any kind of media into that DVD-Writer thing, it just recognizes the media and then again starts the recognition process. I guess, this is not some dirty lens problem as when my luck shines and the drive reads the disk and the disk is ready for access from windows explorer, every kind of data can be copied or burned. But this happens only if I'm lucky enough and the drive does not start re-recognition of the disk. This re-recognition(re-mounting) thing happens only while reading a disc. If I'm able to successfully start a burn process then, it does not re-mount the media until the buirn process is complete. I'm gettig sick of this drive. Please give me some remedy for this.
