Guys,

I am gonna buy my new desktop today. Its a dual core intel-E2140 m/c with 945 based mobo.

I read on this forum that this processor is very good for overclocking. Just want to know if the overclocking ability depends upon the motherboard? Do all mobos support overclocking or few r locked?

Regards,
Amit.

Some mobos limit the overclocking.
Some also give special software for overclocking like Gigabyte Easytune.

intel mobos dont allow oc.for better oc,u ll need 965 chipset rather than 945 chipset.
better hv E4400 than E2140 if u really wanna oc.

Choto Cheetah says that these processors are highly overclockable (as per many Discussion groups). If intel boards don't allow overclocking then pls suggest me some other board in the same price range which allows overclocking.

Amit.

Get Asus or gigabyte.i don't have experience with gigabyte though some say its ok.been using asus and it has great overclocking capabilities .
