Some games do need patch but most new games support widescreen resolutions.

u can play most games without patch.
i cant play CS1.6/DOTA at native resolutions 1440*900(max. for 19 inch TFT widescreen).the machine completely freezes within 30 mins:(.
changing native resolution to 1024*768 solves the problem, though:).

Whichever you buy, just see if it has DVI input or not. AFAIK, both 940N and VG1912wm doesnot have DVI (digital) input.

how much can you bear dude dvi monitors are very cost viewsonic VP2130b
Ultra-Slim Bezel LCD
costs 27000
i think for home purposes you can go for non DVI monitors
and the cheaper DVI monitor by viewsonic is :
ViewSonic VX2235WM 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 700:1, WSXGA+ 1680x1050, DVI, BlackˇSilver
costs 10,760

there is no VG1912wm
VA1912w - no DVI
VA1912wb - with DVI
VG1921wm - no DVI
VG1930wm - with DVI
VA1912wb - ask specifically for this, check while purchasing that the box pack contains DVI cable :p

Get the Viewsonic VX1932WM for 10.5k(Kolkata price).DVI+2ms response time.
Samsung - 940BW....5ms+DVI(difficult to find one though).
LG - 194WT .... 5ms+DVI

is a graphics card needed to use an LCD monitor. My current config is AMD 2.0 GHz 3200+ on a Gigabyte GA K8N51 GMF-9 mobo with 512 MB DDR400 RAM and onboard GPU nVidia GeForce 6100. M completely noob bout LCDs.Will this config run an LCD?
