Mine is old UPs..but it says to give backup of min. 30 min....or more.

I havn't checked its backup time ..so cant say exactly. Morever back up depend on what power you are comsuming from UPS...like(cabinet fan, graphics card, speaker type and others)

Well my config

Zebronics Cabby with 450 watt (FAN:3*80mm + 1*120 mm )
Intel 915 GAV P4 3.0ghz HT
Seagate 320 GB Sata
Lite-on 20X dvd-R
Nvidia 7300GS
2 Lan cards
Pinnacle TV Tuner
Optical Mouse + Keyboard
Presently 17" CRT but will buy 21' LCD next month

So...for this config I want 30 min backup...if it comes under 3000....otherwise I am satisfy with 15-20 min......

UPS with higher VA will have higher backup.

i've tested 2 APC ups,one a 650VA which gave backup time of 16mins approx and the other a 1100VA which gave backup time of 17min approx.in my case the ups with a higher VA gave only 1min of xtra backup.

what rating wud u give the Microtek 800VA ups as compared to APC?
wat ups wud u suggest for my rig so that i get backup time of 30mins

depend on condition of UPS....time used and charged condition of UPS

Both Microtek and APC are good brand. You can choose either of two. However I own Microtek.

I will suggest you APC 800VA ot higher VA.
