Vista Avi Without Sound

I have hp presario v6000, windows vista basic
This is weird.. all my avi files.. maybe only the divx arent playing with Sound.... cant hear anything. rest everything i hear.. songs, windows sounds.etc
i downloaded latest divx and installed.. still not working.. but the mpg files work with sound.
help me.

have u installed d required audio codec ?

u mite wan2 run d files usin VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)

if u r able 2 hear d sound wen u play d file usin VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) den it means dat u dont have d appropriate audion codec

u mite wan 2 install a good codec packe K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.3.5 (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm)

but uninstall d instaled DivX codec b4 u go abt installin d codec pack cause otherwise it will give u new headaches ;)
