HI everyboby,
I have:
PIII 1.13 Ghz, windows 98(c:), windows XP pro(f:), 384 MB ram,
40 GB HDD(10GB/partition),
I am having following BUNCH of problems sience last few months
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
1) sometimes windows XP, while starting, shows Blue Screen with "STOP:0xhhhhhhhh"
message, where "hhhhhhhh" is a hex code. Till now I have got these messages:

-----------------ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------
STOP:c000021a{Fatal System Error}
The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly
with a status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shutdown.
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------------ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------
STOP:c000021a{Fatal System Error}
The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of 0xc000007b (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shutdown.
--------------------------------------------------------

Also, once I got a dialog box with following message:
-----------------ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------
The application or dll F:\windows\system32\msgina.dll is not a valid
windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
--------------------------------------------------------

After clicking "OK" I got a message box, with a button to restart, informing
about failure of windows GUI initialization.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
2) The above kind of Blue screens were also displayed while PC was running normally.

-----------------ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------
STOP:0x0000008E(0xc0000005, 0xBF845A45, 0xF0D804A0, 0x00000000)
Win32k.sys-address BF845A45 base at BF800000 DateStamp 41107F7A
--------------------------------------------------------

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
3) The visual settings changes to classic windows looks.
Even if I re-adjust the looks to winXP (use visual styles)from
MyComputer Properties it doesn't sometimes, in such case the Appearance
tab in Display Properties lists only "Windows Classic Style" and not
"Windows XP Style".
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
3) The CDs and DVDs don't auto play in WinXP, but auto plays normally in Win98.
I have not disabled autoplay feature, It happened just like "next day it's not
working".

I have Liteon DVD writer and Sony CD writer.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
4) I access sancharnet using 56kbps D-link modem. Sometimes even after connecting
to Internet I can't browse and get 404 error everytime.
On running ipconfig/all, in this situation, the o/p is of following kind:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
PPP adapter SancharNet:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface

Regarding the Sancharnet, I think someone else would be able to help you out.

Hope the links work out fine for you.

I think your computer is junked. You might need to get a new one or call Geek Squad:)
