Problem in displaying LAN icon in taskbar

The LAN icon(connected or not connected) which generally appears(beside system clock in taskbar) if u have a internet connection.

But my LAN icon is not appearing.

what should i do???????

I use WindowsXP with SP2 installed and Kaspersky Internet security ver7.0

control panel> open network connection
here u will see ur connections

right click on the ikon > properties> at the bottom check mark the "show icon in the notification area when connected"
