Advise need on Configuration

The objective is to assemble a PC that i would need purely for Multimedia applications i.e watching movies (DVD), and listening to music. This also means i should be able to rip Divx and create mp3s. The only thing i am sure about is a 160 GB hard disk. The rest is really confusing.

AMD or P4
Gigabyte or Asus or MSI
I would need 5.1 spoeakers for sure
and a combo drive
and 17" monitor

All this within Rs.25000.


Is it possible and whats the best combo.

for multimedia usage consisting of ripping,converting movies go for INTEL

well as for ur budget its kinda midrange so u cant expect all wht u want in 25k

well i wod say go for a 3ghz proccy with a asus/msi 915 mobo

this wod cost u abt 13.5k

Combo Drive --> liteon/sony

5.1 speakers from creative wod cost u abt 4k
