Do It Yourself
Share Firefox Between Windows and Linux
Dual-booting, are we? Feels powerful, doesn’t it, an OS for a task... but some things can be a pain. Like Firefox profiles. Get over it.

30 Days With
The Serpent And The Arachnid!
A mouse and a keyboard, that’s what our reviewer spent 30 days with. And he actually bothered to write all about it. But they’re Razer, and they aren’t 200-rupee devices...

Droolmaal
It is indeed about how much good stuff costs, but we like the good, not the cost. We liked a certain set of cans from AKG, an Alienware machine that isn’t all about gaming, a Klipsch speaker set with an exquisite name...

Take A Crack At
Yes, yes, you’re the budding system admin spouting filth at worms contemptuously called “users.” So can you disable access to the Control Panel? And the printers as well? Win!

Smart Business
Lockdown
Laptop and PDA and Bluetooth and cell phone and Wi-Fi and lots and lots of data all over, in tangible and intangible state, begging to be locked down before they’re stolen and misused? Here’s a good dose of paranoia

Trend
Companies Going Green
You’ve seen it in processors and other hardware. Now we’re seeing it in technology companies, this drive towards eco-friendliness—they’re trying to save on paper and electricity. They’re concerned for the environment. They’re taking the baby steps.

hello,
for buying costly magazines like digit, Linux users are at disadvantages at lot. Say a magazines with predominately cover windows articles, include only 5% articles related to Linux, then for Linux users the satisfaction is only 5% , on the other hands for Windows users they have the satisfaction of 95% of their liking, so they get the value of the money. So If the magazine give some distros then the satisfaction level increased, sadly, many magazines management ignore this fact..
LFY is there but it has crippled with quality of cd and DVD issues, and its Magazine contents are for advanced users and developers only. So Linux users like me left with no alternative, but not to subscribe any magazine just wait and verify whether any articles related with linux or any distros are given with magazine..

I believe this issue is very good and balanced but I am not committing yet!

thanking you,
with regards,
Vaithy

Just a casual glance through the magazine and I see some good stuff, both in print and on the DVD. The FastTrack looks cool too. Good Work! But I couldn't help noticing the huge NDTV ads on 4-5 pages with headings like "Kya mujrimo ke haath kanoon se bhi lambi hai?" and some pathetic looking lawyers as models. Now the news channels have started invading Digit too!!

Btw, the dual layer DVD is having it's toll on the magazine which is becoming anorexic with each passing month. Please feed her some more pages, now that you have NDTV on your long list of financiers. :))

It is nice to read the introduction letter from Shri. Anurag Bhandari, the maker of Granular Linux, however, Pcworld magazine went one step ahead and packed Granular Linux iso image along with bootable PclinuxOS DVD, in its, August'07 issue..
I regret to inform that Artistix is not bootable as it hanged in mid and my Dvd rom give grinding noises.. While in Windows it is perfectly alright//

Well I must say, this issue has been the best issue I have come across so far. They need to give reviews on linux distros much more similarly, so that every one can understand how much u can play with it. Celestia was nice too. They can give more movies like sherlock holmes, famous thrillers, murder mysteries etc.

On the Dell cover page, I think Digit can add a little more specs like weight. They can also add regular HOW TOs on linux customization n make pages more presentable like in this issue so that people can understand fun associated with it, that home users in numbers, kids, musicians, artists and anybody can Njoy the linux distros, those packed ones and ready to go, and shed the common image/myths that linux is for 'geeks'!

The contents shud keep looking interesting and exciting!!

Dear moderator please help.
I Unzipped the Linspire Distro file onto the Hard Disk and burned the contents using the Nero -6 with option make a bootable CD. But the Cd is only a bootable not running the Linspire on booting. What's wrong with the process?
While the Damn Small Linux unzipped to hard disk and from within Window I could run Linux.
Is it not the responsibility of Digit to give a little more illustration on the software, how to's (preferably in a snapshot view) etc..
I installed the Celestia, successfully running, but couldn't understand the what to do with the pack 1&2 ,3, 4e, General Education etc..

This time they posted the magazine/cd/dvd/ content on the website on 2nd. By doing so they braked the record of past few months of posting the content on 5th of the month.

By the way I had stopped buying Digit from May/2008 as its not available here till 13th or 14th of the month. Why wait so long, I go for other ones.

I borrow it form my brother living at delhi.

Last month it was a 110 page magazine. Can you believe it.

The thread for this month will not be posted because those thread are full of criticism rather praising. So those threads are resulting in loss to their business/customers/mag. sales.
