I have Windows XP SP2 installed and I have already activated it. But when I boot it, it says " _____ days remaining. Do you want to activate now?". When I press YES, it shows a window saying "Windows already activated. Click OK to continue". Now, I cannot boot into windows because the days remaining has ended and if I press YES. I get the screen saying "Already activated". If I press OK, it logs off. HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!11

As I suspected coz such problems always occur while using cracks. :D
Try this:

Open regedit and goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\wpaevents
Now in right-side pane double-click on OOBETimer and change the last digit to any other number.

Now restart ur system and then try to activate windows again. It should work. :)

My father has about 6GB of data on the C: drive and I don't have that much space in any other drive. I'm desperate, please help!

two methods :

1. connect Ur hdd to urs friend hard disk and transfer the data to any other partion then format the C: and reinstall the windows

2. install a fresh windows xp into Ur D: or any other drive leaving c: as it is
now transfer the imp data from C : then format Ur C: and reinstall windows XP
after Ur windows in C: has been installed just delete D:\windows folder

hope these will help

I have a small doubt. I am accessing data from Mandriva Linux Spring 2007. If I alter registry using wine registry editor, will I see the same entries like in windows regedit? I haven't tried safe mode yet. If the same keys are present here also, then I will edit from Linux. Please confirm.
