how to remove defender icon in vista

hi friends
m using win vista business. in my task bar there is a icon named windows defender. i want to remove it permanently. plz help. at starring when i have installed vista there was no icon such of this type

1. Double click on the icon and it'll open Windows Defender.
2. Click on "Tools -> Options".
3. Scroll down and select "Only if windows defender detects an action to take" option in "Choose when the windows defender icon appears in the notification area".
4. Now click on "Save" button.

i did it but i am not sucess. windows defender is continue in taskbar. i want to remove it.

disable uac, reboot. try again.
