i have got an ibm pc 5 yrz old
it has

P4 1.7ghz processor
256mb ddr RAM
40Gb hard drive
845 MOTHERBOARD

I HAVE THOUGHT OFBUYING NEW COMPUTER THIS OCTUBER SO PLZ GIVE ME THE BEST CONFIG. FROM 25K-35K

TILL I BUY A NEW PC IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN USE VISTA ON MY CURRENT PC.

I DON'T KNOW WHCH HARD DRIVE IS CURRENTLY ON MY COMP..PLZ CAN U TELL ME SO THAT I CAN BUY A NEW ONE WHCH I CAN LATER USE FR THE NEW COMP.

Plz ask this before 10 days when you plan to buy.Actually hardware costs is decreasing every day.So may ur budget can get better confrigation in oct month.

yes you can use...........upgrade RAM and get a graphics card.

as you said you have intel 845 montherboard.This motherboard support only PATA type hard disk.But all new motherboard support SATA hard disk..and it is always suggested to use SATA hard disk.SATA has many advantage over PATA including speed.
