With a little hardware modification and a special software, we have load a mobile version of Ubuntu in a Sony Ericsson P990i... Yeppa!!!

Youtube Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyVJgw-H5l8)

Ubuntu on N70 Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1UJsgTusdg)

Hmmmm ... Cant speculate.. I Dont know if there is any version of Mobile edition of Ubuntu available. The soldering looks fake as he did not show solder on the phone.. It may be a another PCB.. But the interface looks ok and can really fool anyone isnt it :P.

There's a mobile version of ubuntu for sure, it was announced in this section in the past.
There's a mailing list for it too.
I don't have details beyond that.
I believe P990i and N70 both run on ARM, and linux does have a ARM port. But, beyond that I have no knowledge of it. Hope someone else can give better info.

BTW, Openmoko should be lot more fun if someone wants to really try out such experiments.
