Hi friends! I am planning to buy a new PC in august. I want help assembling it.
I want a really good graphics card and should be DX-10 compatible and should play all latest and old games at the monitor's resolution at full eye-candy turned on. Also a 5.1 speaker set with deep and earth shattering bass at a very good price! I also want a 19 inch widescreen monitor if possible or 17" widescreen is also good. I heard that AMD is better if you want to do XVID encoding and play games. Please suggest me a good processor and motherboard. My budget is Rs. 50k
I have myself made a configuration if u dislike it do provide me with a good system and please provide with the prices!
AMD Athlon X2 4200+
Asus M2A VM
2X1 GB RAM 667 Mhz
Big GeForce 8800 GTS
Viemsonic 19" widescreen monitor.
PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO MENTION THE PRICES IN INR.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 --->4900/-
XFX 650i Ultra Mobo---- 6,200/-
1GB Generic 667 DDR2 RAM---- 3500-4000/-
Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB----18-20k
That seems to be a MUCH better combo overall ;) works out to around 35k.I know its slightly more but well worth it ;) Also dont forget to get a GOOD PSU, High End Cards need them very badly :)

I'd say Darklord has a better suggestion than yours, but about the ram, make it 2Gb, 2x1Gb DDR2-800. will be only few bucks more, but good performance boost.

As of now C2D is better overall, which covers gaming and encoding both ;)

well i wud suggest amd athlon 64 x2 4600+ .their prices r going down again on 7th so it is much much better value for money than intel & as for mobo i suggest msi k9agm2
ram-go for kingston 800mhz 2X1gb if u can otherwise go for 667mhz
for monitor a better choice is benq fp92w around 11000

for heavy bass go with logitech x-530:D but as an over all winner creative t6060.
plz give ur budget ..is the 5.1 speaker included in the 50k.?.if it is then these r ur best choices.
for graphics card i would suggest to go for some better brand
my personal preferance is MSI so i wud suggest go for
MSI's 8800gts 320mb cuz it has a lot of sevice centres in india & if by chance ur graphix card goes bad u cud easily find a service centre
