Upgrade Config Required ..

A friend of mine wants to upgrade the PC ..budget is 15 K..

Components Required ::

1 . Processor - C2D is a must

2. Motherboard - Genuine Intel

3. HDD - 120 GB

4. RAM - 1 GB DDR2

5. Optical Drive - DVD-Writer

Suggest the brands and whether i'll get these in 15 K or he'll have to extend his budget ?

as see, what i would suggest as u have one 8600GT now :D

C2D 6420 @ 2.14 GHz / 4MB L2 / 1066 available at Rs. 8100 + TAX at Kolkata
Mobo XFX 650i or P5N-E SLi should be bellow 6k + TAX
HDD 160GB segate SATA-II would be Rs. 2050 + TAX
DVD RW would be around Rs. 1500 + TAX

and u would need a better PSU compairing with the one u have now with ur 915 based boaurd, here at kolkata, ColorSit (a OK brand) 450watts is Rs. 1200 + TAX

thnx choto for ur reply but lemme tell u , i mentioned it in my thread that this upgrade is for my friend's PC ....my PC doesn't need an upgrade , its alreasy hi-fi acc. to my needz :D......so wanna modify ur reply ? :confused:

Intel 965RY or Asus P5B-VM.tell ur frnd to get the Asus mobo if u can cuz its has good oc options.P5B-VM = 7k.
1GB DDR2 667 = 2k
Sony DVD RW = 1.6k

Why take a 120 GB when u can get a 160 for a few 100 bucks more ?

Nope. without OC, E4300 isnt the thing u should look at too, so, right now, Best would be AMD X2 range...

ASUS M2A-VM @ Rs. 4000 + TAX

Segate 160 GB SATA-II @ Rs. 2050 + TAX

Total 14950 incl TAX now these are all Kolkata Street price, may be in ur place they could b in higher side but u will be get within 17k for sure...
