Manufacturer: Zion
Chip: Hynix
Specification: 512MB; DDR SDRAM (commonly known as DDR1);
Working Condition: Perfect, hardly used. Available with original Bill and Pack.
Warrenty: Available for 2+ years
Price Expected: Rs 3200
Location: Kolkata.
No shiping charges within Kolkata

Now before any of my esteemed visitors or members starts calling my price insane or starts lowballing please read the following facts :) :

1. DDR1 prices are nearly double of the DDR2 RAMS.
2. At least in Kolkata as far as my information goes, the only available DDR1 module of this BUS Speed is 128MB, 512 MB (266 MHz) is Out of Market.
3. This is intended for those buyers who can just upgrade the RAM without going through costly full upgrade and get a good speed.

Is this a joke? 3.2k for a 512MB old, slow, and hynix DDR RAM? Good luck to you...

biggest joke of the year YAAR. All DDR rams are backward compatible.

All DDR rams are backward compatible.

You can never put a DDR RAM in DDR2 slot, so I beleive you have made a fool of yourself.

Please read my first post...it is almost new, not available in the market and so the price is same as new, furthermore it is within warrenty. So this item is only intended for those looking for a cheaper upgrade option 'cause the mobo does not support DDR2.

If you are not interested please do not post in this thread.

( New DDR RAM 512MB costs arnd 1400/-)

Impossible,,,atleast in Kolkata. I have recently [a week or so back] enquired with the large shops here...and the first thing they say is that it is not available, and when it was last availavle the price hovered between 3.2K to 3.5K. So price that you have found is either not of the specification of mine or it is wrong.

Anyways, I request all my visitors to post here only if you are genuinely interested and do not lowball like the last two posters [those two do have some problems in understanding polite request that I made in my very first post].

Please understand that I'm well aware of the market [atleast in my city] and the product's specification and availability.

Thank you

Thanks choto cheeta for atleast confirming that DDR1 RAM costs much more than DDR2. I hope it should stop people like entrana making useless comments in some one else's thread.

Yes I know that I am quoting a price a bit high, but as I said, it is only for those with older mobo which may not support 400 FSB RAMS, and moreover 266MHz 512 DDR1 is not available in the market only the 128MB one is there.

Once again I am disapoiting you...

Those RAMs supporting 400 MHz will run uder 266 MHz and 333 MHz quite fine :)

^^ :) Are u sure...

Please explain !!! What do u mean ??

what about DDR2 in MB supporting DDR1

According my knoledge its not possible, as if you dont have any 184pin DDR connector in ur motherboard its not possible to plug in a DDR-II RAM as those needs 240pin connector...

But some how intel do manages to run DDR-II Rams in their DDR based boards  refer here, http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60930

DDR400 is backward compatible with DDR266 or DDR333 RAM supporting Mothers boards. So Why would someone pay the cost of 1GB DDR400 for mere 512MB DDR266..?

ha!!

ha!!

Certain user's feel that a 400MHz RAM may create performance issue in a 266MHz slot as that is not originally made for a 266MHz slot.

But as I said...never mind it is sold...and baught by someone having clear HW knowledge.
