I cant connect my n72 to the pc using the data cable...anerror message comes when i try..."Failed to detect available connection types.pls reinstall the pc suite".. i tried reinstalling it but it was of no use... the same error msg appeared... I tried connectin it on another pc and it worked...M usb is working fine.... pls help me out of this situation....

have u instaled the data cable drivers?

yeah the data cable drivers got installed along with the pc suite installation from the cd

firstly uninstall Nokia pc suite, then boot under safe mode, and run "Nokia PC Suite Cleaner" which can be downloaded from this site : http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia/0,8764,86988,00.html
restart ur system and do a normal installation of PC suite (restart again if necessary)!!

the pc suite cleaner didnt work...i can connect to the internet usin the datacable dut cant do anything else like transfering music and other stuff...

Are you sure you installed all the drivers that computer prompts to install the first time you connect your phone after installing pc suite. Try reinstalling the software . Connect the phone after rebooting after reinstallation.

what is a data transfer mode....and iam sure ive installed all the software that came along with it in cd

Is a folder named "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" there in the folder where pc suite installed? If not all drivers are not installed. Not sure whether I know fully about data transfer mode. Have you installed the software from the cd which you got with this phone or from that of any othe phone?

yes the folder is there and i installed from the cd that came along with the phone....

ok... now refer to my above post , ive mentioned bout "nokia pc suite cleaner",
instead of that try ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download/) and delete all the crap associated wid da name 'nokia' under safe-mode.
now re-boot windows and install PC suite!! :)
