This is not exactly news but it really does need to be told .

My iPod doesn't have India in it's Date/Time settings page , yes Apple officiallyy sells iPods in India but still iPod software doesn't have india anywhere in it's Date/Time(Timezone) selection page

heck , my iPod features karachi in the Date/Time settings page but no city from India :shock:

Strange. Macs have settings for IST, the Indian currency and Indian languages. And yet the iPod doesn't. o.O

For what its worth, Jobs doesn't hate India. He loves India, and its history/philosophy. (Didn't he like come to India in his trip days?)

aryayush

Yeah, he did. And I think something happened on that trip that has turned him against India. (I know he had a terrible time here. He and his partner were caught in a hailstorm and almost died in it.)

Seriously, Apple almost ignores the Indian market. :(

Extras>>>>Clock>>>>>Scroll to an empty clock>>>>>center button>>>>Asia>>>scroll down to Mumbai ,New Delhi ,Chennai ,Kolkata.
This is what i get in my 5.5g iPod Video ,I dont really know about the nano's.

Isn't there some option in iTunes to configure your iPod? I'm sorry I've never used an iPod so I have no idea about it. :p

@iMav Thanks for the suggestion. i guess its reseting the ipod which i dont want to do. As i again will have to configure it.Anyways found a word around from the net where the complete scrolling thing was given on how to configure it to back to english language.
Nevertheless thanks for a good Suggestion.
@aryayush .
Thanks ! Yes there is an option to reset the ipod or even update the firmware from the itunes.

Well you have Mumbai in the Additional Clocks(i.e in the Extras Section) but you don't have it in the System Date/Time Settings .

i'm talkin bout Date/Time Settings in Settings>>Date & Time>>Set Date & Time

Sourabh

Didn't you read that Jobs doesn't care about India, besides I don't think he is gonna admit that iPod has a flaw.

Menu -> Settings -> Date & Time -> Set Time zones

This is for time zones....nd its quite surprising that none of the Indian cities feature here and even stranger that Karachi is here.

I agree, Apple is sorta showing Anti-India feelings. After all I-Pods in India are the 2nd most expensive in the world; only after Brazil.

YOU can of course still set the correct time and synchronise it with ur PC, but thats not the point.

I do hope an Indian city will feature with the next firmware update.
