my friends USB port is not working


what can be done?

can a new USB port installed in the PCI SLOT?

You can get a Usb card inserted in pci slot.
Before that check the usb cable connections.

after u check cables...try uninstalling the USB root hub frm the OS
it will be reinstalled after a restart....

start-->>right click My COmputer-->> properties-->>hardware-->>Device Manager-->>-expand the branch Universal Serial Bus Controller

If the status device is not known OR not working, update the driver.

If you cannot see any usb port...than check the wires(also power cables) inside the cabinet.
