"cidaemon.exe" annoying process or helpful proces

I need a urgent help for this process is taking all my system resources and my cpu bar starts shooting at 100% range. One was a bit annoying, but there are two such process that starts and takes on the processor regardless of what important process is taking place, Even though I shut it down it shuts down and restarts again. Please help me on what kind of process this is and please say if it is useful are not, if not how to get rid of it.

Its Windows' indexing service. Consumes a lot of CPU time and page file space...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899869
The symptoms are as follows:
• The current CPU utilization is high.
• The size of the pagefile may be as large as 1.2 GB or more.
• The Cidaemon.exe process uses lots of pagefile space and lots of CPU time.

To solve this:
To resolve the issue, turn off the Indexing service. To turn off the Indexing service, follow these steps:
1. Double-click My Computer, point to Explorer Bar on the View menu, and then click Search.
2. Click Change preferences, and then click Without Indexing Service.
3. Click No, do not enable Indexing Service, and then click OK
