directx installation problem

I have directx 9.0b installed on my system.Whenever i try to install 9.0c

the installation overs within a second and says "The installed components are now ready for use".

but when i open the dxdiag it still shows that i have directx9.0b:(

pls can anyone help me

^^ Log in safe mode while installing DX. This might help.

uninstall dx 9b thn install dx 9c

What os are you using ???

as Install Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 , they all comes with DX 9.0c integrated... u dont need to install any thing else...

so u must b running any older OS version so install the latest Service Pack, which will make sure autometic installation of DX 9.0c

yeah its sp2 beta and i unstalled it and installed 9.0c.it worked.
