1. I want a calendar for linux which is similar to tat of RAINLENDAR for windows.

2. Which is the software used in both the pics.

3. i wanted to download and use beryl, but i found so many beryl files which file should i download to use all the beryl effects and themes.

Just use Yum to d/l Beryl... All the necessary files will be d/l-ed automatically...
I think the software the first image is just a KDE panel.
The second image is a screenshot of Fluxbox Desktop..

no its not a kde panel. its a separate software.

Yum is the package manager for rpm-based distros...viz, Mandriva, RHEL, Fedora, Open Suse.

How did you then install xmms ?

I don't know about Rainlendar alternative but a highly simple similar kind of thing is here

Try this for Rainlender. It has an option for Linux too. Though i havent used it on Linux.
