Which one is better to learn 3D animation? Or is there any other similar Freeware Software?
Thanx.

I use 3Ds Max 9 cos Maya's interface scares me :p too many tabs & buttons.

However once I started working on Maya, I found it to be as powerful as 3ds max while beating 3ds max when it comes to particle simulation & animation.

You can try yourself, unless you try you cannot judge. Another good application would be modo. It is very good & light weight for modeling purpose though Modo's renderer sux in front of mental ray

3D Max is good for beginners & Game Programming. Lot of Plugins like AE.

Maya is excellent and good for Film Production. Inbuild effects like Flame.

You can start learning Maya instead of 3D Max, If your aim is to be a Film Artist. But Maya has a deep learning curve than 3D Max. Good Luck!!!

Download the tutorials and practice them.
Start with modelling, lighting and then come to animation.

They have designed a gingerbread in the tutorial. Practice that.
