i got GeForce 7600 GS recently.disabled onboard intel extreme grphics thru dev. man.Put the AGP card properly in its place n connected the montor to the card.But on booting up the PC there is no display on the monitor:!:
I tried tinkering around the BIOS settings,checking other troubleshooting on the net but to no use:confused: My system config. is
2.4 Ghz Intel Celeron Processor
1 Gb Transcend ddr RAM @ 400mhz
Intel i845g chipset
40 Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD @ 7200 rpm
230W PSU {Could This be the cause of problem???}

Whats your Mobo ? What exactly did you tinker with in the BIOS ? Try disabling the onboard VGA from within the BIOS and enable AGP acceleration.
Try this (http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-11184-0.html?forumID=48&threadID=164023) tut. It might be an old one.. But the concept might be useful..

u put the finger on the sore spot buddy! get urself a minimum of 400W(500W Powersafe preferably).

^^^u don't require a powerhouse like 500Watt PSU!
A 400 watts moderate PSU will also work.U can even use a 350Watt quality PSU & ur problem will be solved ,but the 400Watt is what i also suggest.

Thats pretty weird. That link outlined quite a few different work-arounds to installing an AGP card... None of them worked ? Did you follow them correctly ?
In such a case, the under powered PSU maybe the culprit... You don't need a 400 W PSU....a 350 W PSU from even frontech would do... Psst... My friend has a 350 W PSU and he owns a Geforce 6600 and AMD64 Athlon 3200+ (Venice core).....So a 350 W PSU should be sufficient for you.

Well to check few of ur system specs download CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-140.zip)
This will tell what CPU,moterboard,RAM do u have even the chipset.

it cud be that ur mobo doesnt support 128-bit cards.1st try a diff PSU then try a diff gfx card (try a 64-bit one).

this is what cpu-z told me abt mainboard.
can anyone tell me what is the bare min. hardware for PC to boot properly.so i can remove all xtra burden from that tiny PSU n check out whether it really IS the cause of prob.
