my mobo is MSI K9N NEO F. i have 2*512MB DDR2 @ 667Mhz. how will i arrange it to run in dual channel mode??? HELP

also...CPU-Z latest version shows my ram is always in slot 1 when i put 1 of my ram in any slot. there are 4 slots in my board. and when i insert the 2 ram, it also show that it is inserted at slot 1 and 2 even when i inserted at 3 and 4. BIOS is latest version......................

put both the RAMs in DIMM 1 and DIMM2. u can know the dimm 1 and 2 slots by looking at the manual of the mbd.

you have 4 DIMM slots..
consider like this
DIMM 1 & DIMM 2 as A
DIMM 3 & DIMM 4 as B
now to use dual channel config.. you must use one ram in DIMM 1 and the other in DIMM 3 (i.e one is A and other in B, but you should use either 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 combination)
also configure you bios for dual chan config

DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 is the right choice :)
the slots are color coded , go for 2 similar colored DIMMs

sometimes all the slots r of same color. also dimm1 n dimm2 may not b adjacent. that is why i told u to read the motherboard manual. here... this link might help...

dual channel works only if you put your RAM on
DIMM 1 & DIMM 3 or
DIMM 2 & DIMM 4
if you put in DIMM 1 & DIMM 2 (or DIMM 3 & DIMM 4)it works only in single channel config..

Colour codes obviously. Just check which is DIMM1. Unless MSI thought they can do with some colour games(I saw a MSI with wrong colour coding).
